1. Nashville Trip
Jake and I got to go to Nashville for a family medicine conference. Just me, Jake, and baby Ralphie. That was the best! All the big kids got to spend the week with Gigi, Pops, and Lillie. We ate some yummy food, listened to different bands as we walked down Broadway, hung out with co-residents and their families, and relaxeddddd. Jake was able to get a lot of his much-needed studying done and I feel graetful for a nice reset as we begin another week of homeschooling and activities!
2. Wesley's Sports Overlap
Woof! We've been busy! Wesley's soccer season just ended, but not before overlapping with rec football, YMCA football, and YMCA basketball. He loves them all and I'm so grateful he gets to try all of the things. I didn't realize basketball *clicked* in his head and he was able to score 5 baskets in one game. That was fun!
3. My baby is 9 months old.
And I truly don't know where the time is going. Just absolutely flying. Luckily she didn't decide she wanted to start walking. Huge blessing! She's just a fast 4x4 crawler and pulls herself to stand on everything. She somehow became more obsessed with me this month and is definitely in her stranger danger era. She's so good in the car seat, a fantastic eater, and the best snuggler... Also, she has one of the cutest laughs. We are all wrapped around her finger! Yes, even the kids!
4. Halloween Costumes
June is a black cat. Wesley is Harry Potter. Eden is Aurora. Brynn is Elsa (following in her big sister's footsteps). Ralphie is a highland cow. So cute. We had our church party last week which was a little bit of a bust but the kids got some good chocolate! Upcoming we have the Montgomery Ward Halloween party and Halloween! The kids are stoked! We're going to go hard on dying the hair, using lots of makeup, sparkles, and face paint. Trying to make all of their dreams come true...
5. Lisette's getting close to having a baby!
It's been an exciting month of getting updates from Lisette about her pregnancy. The baby keeps flipping from head down to breech which is putting her through the ringer, but I'm sooo excited for my second niece to be here soon!!!!
6. Bengals game
Jake's parents surprised us with tickets to the Bengals game! Amazing seats!! We lost but it was a really fun game to watch. We almost made a comeback at the end! And it was a really great day for a date. We've had some of the most beautiful, warm October weather. I did leave my breast pump at Paycor and had to buy a new one which was annoying.
7. Jonas Brothers
I went to the Jonas Brothers concert with Maraika and Katie!! It was so much fun to get an evening away for dinner and to see the Burning Up Tour all over again! Haha it really is kind of crazy to think about seeing the exact same tour on July 9, 2008, and seeing it again in 2026. They are really fun to watch and put on a good show. Even though I was yawning by the end... but I do have 5 kids!
We're trying to do all the October things: mums on the porch, carving pumpkins, enjoying the pumpkin patches (Shaw Farms and Blooms and Berries), playing in the falling leaves, making pumpkin sugar cookies, and more... I think the kids already watched The Nightmare Before Christmas, so I need to show them Halloweentown!
