We Are Ready To Be Married

Yesterday, Jake and I went to Bountiful because Rachel invited us up to have dinner. She also is letting me borrow her veil for our wedding and is giving us an awesome table . . . with 6 chairs! We may not have a bed frame or a couch, but we have a mattress and a table with 6 chairs!

We made a paper change some sixty days ago and now that paper chain is down to eight days.

We've spent every day together since we got engaged and there's no doubt, at least for me, that this last week will be extra special. Our engagement has been so fun, definitely a learning process, and honestly we've gotten to know each other so much better. Right now, I'm just so ready to be married to him and start our lives that I'm ready to skip past this part but then I realize how special this time in our lives is!

A short engagement is a whirlwind of different stuff all at once. We bought our wedding bands together, planned the wedding, went to Lake Powell, went to Ohio for Thanksgiving, went to Vegas for a Stars hockey game, drove countless hours from Texas to Kansas to Colorado to Utah, watched a lot of $5 Tuesday movies, finished Stranger Things, cooked a lot, bought a bunch of flights, planned for Christmas, studied, figured out a honeymoon, got a little sassy with each other, but most of all enjoyed the 4 straight months of being with each other.

But now we are so ready to live in our own little house, have our own cute chickens, put what we want in our own fridge, divide & conquer with chores, and start our own little family. I'm probably more nervous than he is, but what I can say for the both of us is that we are more than ready . . . to celebrate with our family and friends, to see all the hard work of our families come together, to make a covenant with each other and with Heavenly Father, to be so dang happy!

Yesterday we went and did sealings together in the Provo City Center Temple and it was so, so good. I'm really glad we were able to find time and go. There was another brother there and he brought some family names, so it was amazing to be able to act as the parents for children who have been waiting so long to be sealed! And doing couples was amazing too -- hearing the blessings that God has promised if you remain faithful . . . Ahhh, so good! I really would suggest that girls that are engaged to go through the temple as early as your Bishop and Stake President will let you, because it's such a good experience to have with your husband-to-be beforehand!

Anyway, that's my rant for the week... Eight stinking days!!!
